Now here's an adventure worth bragging about! The T-6 "Texan" is a trainer that was designed in the 1930's by North American Aviation. Eventually over 17,000 were built and most military pilots of the time were trained in the T-6 or some derivative thereof. This particular one is outfitted with a 600 HP engine that generates some serious fun. I can say for certain that it will easily pull 4 G's.

Photos are broken into groups:
Introduction to the plane and then taxi and take-off.
First you buckle into the parachute, then into the seat. If necessary, bail out behind the wing, head-first. I'm not kidding, those were the instructions.
In-flight photos taken with a wing mounted film camera.
Not the actual landing, but the approach and taxi back in.
Some of the interesting things seen.
Some of the interesting people there. Stupid me, I neglected to get pictures of the great people at
Warbird Adventures. Next time.
There is also a DVD of the flight. Unfortunately, at this time my computing equipment can't handle that, so I can't share that with you right now. However, there are these videos on YouTube:
English Guy, who is just thrilled with the whole thing, and
great display of the instructioni you get. All are excellent and really reflect the feeling you get flying this great machine. But actually doing it is way better. Trust me on that. I would love to do this again. Here's the official YouTube from
War Bird Adventures. Here's my comment on that YouTube site:
I did this in March 2007 and I can say for certain that it
is by far the best thing you can do with your clothes on.
