Thanksgiving 2004 addendum

Flowers from George's F-r-r-r-riend Reyna.

Reyna Abu Nawas, "Owner/Designer, Hostess & Janitor"
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was picture perfect (a Butterball, which is pretty much what I feel like right now). I forgot to make the turnips. Oh well, we'll have that another day. The pumpkin pie turned out to be quite good. Surprisingly good, and very easy to make. Had candied yams, mashed potatoes, some other veggies, and a heap-o-stuffing, Pepperidge Farm. Also had ½ of a pecan pie (store bought) for desert. George likes that (I don't), and she's really eaten quite a bit so far. We actually ate in the dining room where we were lucky enough to have a truly gorgeous center piece. It's really not all that unusual for Reyna to send over an absolutely perfect bouquet of flowers on a holiday. We really don't expect it, but it always brings tears to George's eyes. Thanksgiving was no exception. I don't know why she does this, she just does. It's yet another thing to be thankful for.
